On what days can training
be started?
Classes begin
monthly except for holidays. Holidays include - New Year's
Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day,
July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving
Days (Thursday and Friday), and Christmas Day.

What are the daily
hours of required attendance?
All hours are
instructional hours. These are Monday through Thursday 9:00
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Evening
hours are Monday thru Wednesday 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and
Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

What is the usual class
size?
The school has been approved by the New York State Education
Department to accommodate a maximum number of 87 students.
The 100 welding stations are fully equipped. The classroom
can accommodate 18 students for lecture, presentation, and
discussion.
Day classes: Total student body, 30-60 students.
Individual classes:
10-12 students.
Evening classes: Total student body, 12-20 students.
Individual classes: Maximiun of 6 students.

Can the school provide
lodging to out-of-town students while in training?
In most cases,
the school can assist in finding lodging for students.

At what level of entry
can I expect to enter the job market?
The program
will enable students to perform welding duties in fabrication
shops. Highly-skilled students can work in the construction
field where certifications are required.

Do I need to be certified
to get a welding job?
State licensing
or certifications are not required to practice the trade of
welding. It is therefore not mandatory for our students to take
these certification tests. However, Modern Welding School does
offer many of these certification tests. Students can become
certified while enrolled.
